about

A student didn’t show up for a lesson, so I wrote this song in about an hour or less, before the next one showed up. The title is Thom Bresh and Merle Travis’ first names spelled backwards. Bresh told me he and Merle used these nicknames on the phone, and in person, just to be silly – having some fun with each other, as it were. This song was written in that same spirit – just having fun.
